The Panghat Performing Arts Group travelled all the way down to Russia to become part of the Fifteenth Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival and support the long-standing friendship and cultural exchange with Russia.

“Russia and India have been good friends for many years, and we are here to support cultural exchange and Russian culture. And that's our main goal”, said Chaitanya Pravinchandra Dave, Director of the Panghat Performing Arts Group.

He revealed that at the Spasskaya Tower Festival, his artists are showcasing the cultural traditions of their native state of Gujarat and performing the Garbo dance.

All the ensemble’s performances are heartily welcomed by the stands. Dressed in bright and carefully crafted outfits, the artists bring to Red Square their dynamic performing style and bewitching melodies.

The Panghat Performing Arts Group is one reflecting India’s rich ancient traditions and its cultural heritage. In Hindi, “panghat” means “riverbank”. Formed in 2001 in the city of Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Panghat Performing Arts Group has a very rich performing repertoire of Indian folk and ritual dances representing various states of the country, including the ensemble’s native state of Gujarat.

Altogether, the Panghat Performing Arts Group is a combination of instrumental, dance and vocal teams.

The Festival is carried out following the Order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Moscow Department of Culture.
