The Moscow Music Military School was founded in 1937.

Since 1940, all military parades on the Red Square are opened by the company of drummers — cadets of the school.

During the 75-years of its existence, the Moscow Music Military School has been a unique educational institution of the Ministry of Defense. More than three thousand musicians who have become well-known conductors, performers and teachers are its graduates.

School orchestras successfully participate in various concert halls of Moscow, such as the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, Moscow International House of Music, the State Kremlin Palace, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and many other concert stages in Russia.

The orchestra’s repertoire includes dozens of pieces of different eras, styles and genres: the Western European and Russian classics, contemporary music, jazz compositions.

Today the cadets demonstrate high performance skills, not only in Russia, but throughout Europe: Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, England, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Since 1998, the annual concert tours to Switzerland to the «Suvorov days» events devoted to the Crossing of the Alps by the Russian army under Alexander Suvorov have become traditional. Cadets take part in the most important state events and military ceremonies, international military music festivals: the «Tattoo on Stage» in Switzerland, the «Sevastopol Military Tattoo» in Ukraine, «Ode to Peace» and the «Spasskaya Tower» in Russia.
